To my understanding there is no way to tell when they are that young. You need to wait until one of them branches off and put that branch in a paper bag for 12 hours of dark and 12 hours of light for a week. in a weeks time look at the base of the branch and you should see either hairs that come out or little green balls hanging. these balls will swell with pollen and burst.
