Summoning - Epic Atmospheric Metal - What I like about Summoning is their ability to take a musical idea and expand on it until it is exhausted. They almost never throw their song into a totally unrelated direction. They're composing ability is unmatched. They use A LOT of keyboards and slow, bombastic drums. It's very different than anything you've probably heard. They take a while to grow on you, like they did for me, but now they might as well be my favorite band.
Al Di Meola - Jazz Fusion/Flamenco - Al is an incredible guitarist whether he's playing electric or acoustic. Probably one of the best ever. He released a string of Jazz fusion albums in the 70's that I consider some of the best in the genre. He's amazing live too (Saw him last October).
