Hi Al,

You can't run a 230V AC fan of a 12V DC adapter.
They really require 230V AC, like your refridgerator.
And that's assuming you've got 230V AC powersockets in your house.
Go check a lightbulb and see what it says.

Andduhhh....don't go messing around with 230V AC when drunk Al.
