yup, since its just solid CO2 and sublimes to gaseous CO2 it will raise the concentration of CO2 in the room. It also depends on ventilation because as it said it some of the techniques won't be worth it if its sucked out by an exhaust fan. Also the amount of dry ice needed will vary depending on the size of your room. For the room that was talked about in the OP it was 8*8*8 ft. So just plug your own dimensions into the equations to find out how much you'd need.
