My understanding is that HID would generate more heat than FL (or CFL) and then I\'d have to switch to HPS to flower. Dont these draw more power, require ventilation and fancy ballasts? I need to do a grow as stealthy as possible.
Also, I went to the local Lowes Home Improvement last night and saw 40W CFL for $9.95. How do I figure out what spectrum they emit? The packaging says it\'s a soft lite if that matters. Otherwise I don\'t see how they can be used reliably unless you by one and analyze the spectrum.
