Great post. +Rep man

But is USA really fascist? There are more than enough indicators as your post quite clearly shows. Yet, as the recent mid-term elections showed, at least you have free elections. And several supreme-court rulings have gone against the wishes of the Bush administration.

It would be more correct to claim that the USA is mired in Corporatism. But that is quite frankly just a skip and a dance away from Corporatist Fascism.

I won't go to deeply into this debate however, as I believe it's up to Americans themselves to figure out what is wrong with their (political and economic) system, and anything I say too often get dismissed as Euro-centric drivel when discussing this topic with Americans.

But as far as the Bush administration is concerned, it's harmed the USA more profoundly and effective than any outside-force could ever do. The economy is bleeding verging on collapse, all foreign support has vanished (not counting the UK) and not least, the US have lost the respect and idolization it once enjoyed.
