Review of Dr. Chronic
I got my first order of seeds yesterday and figured I'd write up a review to go with some of the others here.
I chose Dr. Chronic because he has a good reputation on this board. Looking to keep the costs low for what will be my first grow, I chose Nirvana seeds, which sells almost everything for less than $20. I chose "indoor mix" figuring that would be a good way to get experience growing different strains.
I ordered late Sunday night (really Monday morning), and got a confirmation e-mail almost imediately. The e-mail confirming that my order had been shipped arrived about eight hours later, early Monday morning.
The bill to my credit card was very discrete. I don't even remember what it said, but it wasn't anything anyone would ever associate with seeds or MJ.
The e-mail said to expect delivery in 10-14 days, but I got them in 5. The package was impressively stealthy. I won't describe it for obvious reasons, but it mundane enough that it wouldn't draw any attention, yet still looked like something you ordered so you wouldn't accidently throw it away as junk mail.
I was also impressed by how well the seeds were protected. I think a car could have driven over that package and the seeds would have been fine.
Negatives:
I didn't get any freebies. In hindsight, this is my fault as I didn't indicate on the order form that I was a member of these forums or the HG420 forums. Thinking back, there was a space where I could have said it, but I didn't. Still kinda disapointed, though.
I ordered the "indoor mix" which is billed as samples of 5 different varieties. When I got the seeds, there was no way of knowing which seed was which variaty. Obviously this wouldn't be an issue if I had ordered anything else, but I wasn't planning on germinating them all at once and it would have been nice knowing which seed was which. Visably, three of the seeds are obviously larger than the rest, but I don't know what that means. I had also assumed that a "mix" of 5 different varieties would be two seeds of each variety, but now I wonder if the "mix" is just a random mixture of the five varieties.
Inexplicably, there were only 9 seeds in a package that was supposed to be 10.
Conclusion:
I would definitely do business with Dr Chronic again. The positives were all very positive and reassuring while none of the negatives were related to anything Dr Chronic did. Well, except maybe the missing seed, but wtf if you can't take a joke, right?
