The way I do it is real basic and safe.

I messed with the idea of a constant circulating system. It really complicated the whole system. I also found it to be unsafe. If a bucket can't drain as fast as it's being filled then it overflows. Make sure you use a very small pump to allow the system to stay balanced.

I like doing it by hand everyday. It give me a reason to hang out in there. It won't matter a bit if you dont circulate the nutrients. Single unit buckets dont circulate.

Hope that helps, R.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I respect you for the solid information you give, and when I get around to putting a system together, it will look much like your design.

What I get from reading this is that while circulation is important for a multi-unit system, it's easier done by hand than it is to design a mechanical system to do it. Would you agree?
