decided to seal that hole up instead using some marine adhesive sealant. i might add, however, that i completely sealed the hole w/ the freshly applied sealant by placing a nickel on the duct tape that sealed formt he outside and then duct taped the inside seal. so even though that stuff is water proof, if the rig doesnt fail the water will never even touch it.

I feel it's a big mistake to patch a hole or rig it so it wont leak. A new bucket will cost you $5 bucks and you probably have enough tape to do another bucket. Dont risk it to save $5 bucks. I had a bucket leak while trying rubber washers insted of O-rings, It was 30 days into flowering. With no way of removing the whole plant to work on the bucket, I had to kill her. Very sad day for both of us.
