I assume you're referring to "warm" and "cool" colors. Warm colors are simply more red and thus have a greater wavelength in nm whereas cool colors are more blue and thus have a lesser wavelength in nm. For instance, warm white is slightly red whereas cool white is slightly blue to the human eye. Despite the terminology this should not be mistaken for real temperature (the average kinetic energy of particles).

Good choice. According to my graphs, sunlight is good.



After giving the stats another look I am pretty impressed with metal halide. Whereas HPS is only strong in the red MH looks pretty strong in both. Coupling MH with red fluoros should make for a balanced grow if you doubt fluoros' ability to stand alone.
