Generally you should water every 3 days. However when your plant is first starting out, water it everyday, because the soil will tend to dry out, after it gets a few sets of leaves, then water every 2-3 days. The rule of thumb, is poke your finger about and inch into the soil, if its dry, water it, if its not, wait another day. You dont want to overwater your plant. After about 3 weeks you can feed your plant plant food, use somthing with more nitrogen in it, than phosporus. Let your plant grow at that point, if your just a beginner, i wouldent reccomend lst or anything advanced. The thing where you cut the top of the plant off is called topping, i wouldent reccomend doing it unless you have a grow under your belt. It will eventually start to flower, but when you get there, come ask again.
